Selection Services Awarded IIP Accreditation
Selection Services has successfully achieved the Investors in People (IIP) accreditation. The IIP award recognises Selection Services’ commitment to placing employee development at the heart of its business and applying best working practices across the organisation. A representative from the IIP presented the award to Selection Services on the 20th June 2007, at the IIP offices in central London.
The review process was led by Selection Services’ finance director Harvey Downer, with support from Jamie Parish, Helen Spearing and Diana Chance from the company’s human resources and finance departments. All employees within Selection Services were given the opportunity to contribute to the company’s framework and processes, through a comprehensive internal consulting process. The award recognises Selection Services’ strong management skills in supporting a large dispersed workforce and its comprehensive training programmes, which enable staff to develop and take on new roles within the organisation.
New processes such as structured internal meetings and staff updates have been introduced to provide effective communication channels for Selection Services’ 300 strong workforce, 120 of which are mobile workers, who support the company’s 400 customers in the UK, Europe and the United States.
“I am very proud of the work our staff have carried out to gain this accreditation. The award sees Selection Services become one of only a few IT support companies with a large dispersed mobile workforce to achieve this prestigious status,” said Harvey Downer, Finance Director of Selection Services. “The process has enhanced staff moral and empowered our employees to actively contribute to our company culture, strategy and direction.” “Operating in the IT services industry, our staff are our greatest asset. The IIP accreditation underlines the commitment we have in supporting our people and providing them with the framework and processes to allow them to continue to improve their knowledge and skill sets,” commented Alan Cantwell, CEO of Selection Services. “We have already had positive feedback from customers who feel that our engineers and field agents have been able to improve on our industry leading service thanks to the introduction of the new procedures.”
