Selection Services Acquires Hotspot Solutions To Boost Wi-Fi Services and Support
1st August 2007 - Selection Services today announces that it has acquired Hotspot Solutions, a specialist provider of complete wireless access installations to public venues, commercial and educational premises and to private homes. The acquisition sees Selection expand its already comprehensive portfolio of IT services to include the wireless environment, with a proven and reputable service, technology and team.
The addition of the Hotspot team and its expertise allows Selection to offer tailored, full service wireless internet connections to customers and businesses, including initial equipment specification, installation, configuration and testing, and ongoing maintenance. This enables companies to offer employees, guests or clients free Wi-Fi airtime supported by a proven authentication technique which guarantees secure communications over the wireless connection.
The Hotspot service complements Selection’s existing range of IT services, which include 24/7 helpdesk facility, remote monitoring, deskside support, project management, fault evaluation, diagnostics and software support, and disaster recovery.
“Businesses, in the leisure industry and beyond, now recognise the benefits that wireless hotspots can deliver in terms of productivity, increasing footfall and occupancy, maximising service levels and improving brand loyalty,” commented Alan Cantwell, CEO of Selection Services. “By joining forces with Hotspot we can help businesses meet these objectives while delivering on our commitment to continually evolve our business in line with market place demands, and strive to provide our clients with as comprehensive a service as possible.”
The Hotspot service will run as an autonomous business division within Selection and will be headed up by Hotspot managing director of five years, Jamie Hind. The majority of Hotspot’s existing customers are in the sports and leisure industry, including many notable hotels, hotel chains, and cricket and golf clubs, such as Holiday Inn, Best Western, Blenheim Palace, The Lanesborough and Carnoustie Hotel and Golf Club. Selection plans to capitalise on the success in this market, while broadening the scope of the offering to other vertical sectors.
Hotspot’s existing customers will experience significant benefits as a result of the acquisition; specifically by having access to the 24/7 nation-wide support infrastructure delivered by Selection’s 300 technical and service professionals.
